What's with the stink?

Some days I wonder if perfume/cologne is suppose to attract, repel or just cover up someones natural stink because they forgot to shower. Honestly people.

Justice on the tracks

Some douchebag was caught crossing tracks at Union Station this morning. Not sure how the special constable actually caught him since they are generally not really paying any attention to anything but he did. As I passed them the guy was pleading his case. I really wanted to stay and hear what his lame excuse was but thought it best that I keep moving. He should have listened to the customer service ambassador's (I couldn't make that one up if I tried, that is really the person's title) announcement stating "crossing tracks at platform level are prohibited and illegal". Just watching the guy trying to explain his idiocy brought a smile to my face.

Stupid Is In The Air

Not sure what is special about today but there seems to be an unusually high amount of stupid people out there today. First off, a lady about a third my size decided to walk into my path needlessly (she angled into it from a safer position) and had she not taken evasive actions right away, it might have been ugly. Secondly, a few minutes later as I was exiting a building and heading down some stairs, another lady walked straight into my path. I moved to avoid her and she countered by moving in front of me again. I so wanted to continue on my path and send her back down the stairs but instead I veered to avoid this idiot. Lastly, a lady, walking on the sidewalk, stopped to allow a car to turn into a parking garage. If that was not stupid enough on its own, there was no one around her; the car would have been able to turn once she passed by.

Today is going to be one of those days.

Browsing the Headlines

While on lunch I like to browse the news and today I found a couple headlines on thestar.com that I just couldn't resist commenting on.

"GO predicts normal schedule for afternoon commute"
- translation: riders can expect the usual delays but they will be far shorter, or at least far fewer, than the ones experienced this morning.

"Lincoln will be at heart of Obama's inaugural"
- would inauguration not be a better form than inaugural in this context?

The Ants Go Marching 2 By 2...

Until they come to a set of doors or stairs that is.

Every day after work, us ants go marching towards Union Station and the train platforms on our way home. We cram through several sets of double doors and even climb some stairs, most with sufficient room for two. Seems like a pretty straight forward exercise doesn't it? Pretty mundane; not worth writing about. I would tend to agree but unfortunately, the double door system is too much for most to comprehend. People avoid the second door like it is death itself and create a needless bottle neck as they force their way through the single door.

When this occurs at the bottom of the stairs I can at least understand because the one door is generally propped open. People are lazy and go for the easiest choice. When this occurs at the top of the stairs, with both doors closed, it just floors me. Take last night for example. I was walking up the stairs with someone on my left as we approached the doors. Both were closed at the time but instead of opening the door on the left, this person chooses the one on the right for some unknown reason. I sure did laugh when this person walked into the door as I reached to open it instead only stopping it's progress. Of course it was unintentional.

My lesson here likely had as much affect on this person as my not slowing down when being cut off walking does to those tripping over my feet.

Get A Little Closer

I’m the type of person who values personal space. Being tall and, to put it mildly, slightly overweight, I take up a lot of space period. It is obvious to anyone who happens to glance my way. The size of my presence is likely even obvious from their peripheries too but lets not give too many people that kind of credit. Now that the stage is set with minimal sentences and all but this one not being a long, drawn out, run-on sentence, I will get to the story.

The morning of yesterday was cold, the hint of snow in the air but as of the start of this story, no flakes had fallen in the ‘Shwa, at least none that I knew of. I had found my way onto the train somehow and took a seat that I frequently occupy (I will not say my usual seat because I am in denial that I have a usual seat on the train) for the morning commute into the big city. Things were going as uneventful as ever, which is the way we like it, when I heard the end door swing open.

With my music already playing its sweet melodies in my ears and my nose in my book, I caught only a glimpse of the person, noticed that he was a fair size and dismissed him as I thought he would walk right on by. I was wrong. Such a small decision as to what seat would be best seemed too tough for this man on this morning. He twitched as if he was going to continue walking then hesitated. Next he looked as if he was going to sit in the foursome across the way from me but he balked there too. That was when I knew what he had decided, maybe even before he did.

You guessed it, he sat right beside me. Why else would I be writing this? Despite the car having more vacant seats then the Cable Box, once know as Skydome, during any Blue Jays game, this man, all six foot something and two hundred or so pounds of him, ignored the many other empty seats and sat right beside me. He seemed to keep his distance when he first sat down but just as I was thinking he was going to give me some space, he shifted closer to me; so close that I though he wanted to be my conjoined twin, connected at the shoulder. It just got worse from there but my arm is starting to remind me of the encounter so I must stop typing now.

Okay it wasn’t that bad but I did receive numerous elbows as he struggled to take his coat off. Why didn’t he take his coat off while he was standing up? you ask. As Kid Rock would say, only God knows why.

Tommy Boy Moment En Route to the Big Apple

One week ago today I was in a car in Pennsylvania heading south to New York City. Right now I am so wishing I could go back in time…or maybe even forward in time so I would not be at work anymore. Anyhow, despite the long drive it was a fun trip. We went to both MLB stadiums and wandered the streets of Manhattan for a short time all while mastering the expansive subway system. The fun was not limited to our adventures in the big city; it started somewhere near the Pocono’s and had me looking as stupid as David Spade’s character in Tommy Boy at the gas station (the scene where David’s character is looking for a town using the wrong map).

We got the Triptych from CAA to guide us to New York. It is useful as it shows construction zones and the location of food, gas, lodgings and points of interest. We also had the New York Tour Book that gives more information on the points of interest, lodgings, etc. As my dad fiddled around with his new GPS unit, I followed along with the old school maps and my triptych. I was checking out the points of interest to see if any of them interested us. As we neared the Pocono area I noticed a point of interest near Mount Pocono and began searching the tour book for what the point of interest was but I could not locate the town in the Tour Book. Five minutes of searching, likely cursing under my breath all the while, I finally realized something…I would never find Mount Pocono in the Tour Book I had. Mount Pocono happens to be in Pennsylvania not New York, the state for which the Tour Book contained information.

It turned out I needed a new Tour Book not a new map as the gas attendant so bluntly put it in Tommy Boy. And that was my first thought after I realized the mistake I made and started laughing in the back seat. My sister got just as big a laugh out of that occurrence as I did when I told her the reason of my seemingly unprompted laughter.

Short Fuse Anyone?

Here’s one of those stories that should leave you shaking your head and shows you the true nature of the idiots that use public transit (I am not implying that everyone who uses public transit is an idiot, just to be clear on that).

Leaving the Oshawa GO station last night was horrendous. They are doing construction on the only street the station is accessible from and apparently the day had not ended for the work crews so the traffic was more reflective of the traffic on the DVP. It took several minutes longer to get out of the lot than normal much to the dismay of everyone (I was not impressed myself as I had an hour drive ahead and was tight for time as it was). For those who have not been to the Oshawa GO station (I envy you) it is on Bloor St and there is a short street on the east side of the station that mainly serves the lot. The street conveniently has four lanes, a right and left turn lane in each direction. I’m working on a diagram but I doubt I will get it done so just picture it in your head if you can.

The majority of cars that use the side street turn right onto the main road so the smooth flow of the left lane relies on courtesy of other drivers exiting the parking lot at the various exit points. Sometimes the left lane gets blocked and the cars have the option of going around the car. If the driver decides not to go around the offending car, they are usually still able to make their turn on the green light. Usually people are smart enough to realize this and wait patiently for their path to clear. Yesterday was not one of those days.

The car exiting the lot in front of me was unable to merge with the right lane traffic so it blocked the left lane where two cars were waiting. Once the light turned green I edged into the road, stopping well short of the blockage, and waited for the traffic to move. While waiting my eyes met with those of the driver of the first car in the left lane and she started shouting at me through her closed window. WTF! I was just sitting there waiting for traffic to move. I tried to illustrate that I didn’t have a clue what she was saying but that didn’t seem to work as she kept screaming. I tried to calm her down by using hand gestures one would use on a child when they get over excited but all that got me was the finger and a “fuck you”. I showed no indication of cutting in front of her in my attempt to merge into the right lane but after her assault on me I edged my car up some just to make her more irate. I think it worked.

On a side note: while waiting to enter the road a car coming from the main road practically stopped in front of me to pick up her wandering passenger. I really wonder what goes on in some people’s minds.

Anecdotal piece: This morning on the train I was zoning out while looking out the window of the train when we stopped at a station and some lady decides to sit in the four seat section I was sitting. The way she stuck her ass out it appeared she was going to sit in the seat across from me on the outside (I was on the inside) but instead of sitting down there she lead with her ass and wiggled her way into the seat directly opposite me. Now just picture that for a minute. A person sticks their ass out and, as if reaching for the cookie jar that mommy has cleverly put just out of reach, extends themselves backwards towards a distant chair all the while shuffling their feet inch by inch until finally reaching their destination. It was both the oddest thing I witnessed and perhaps the funniest.

Stupid Is As Stupid Does!

Well, I am sitting at work, practically bored to tears again so I thought I should write something to occupy my time. I re-thought my driving lessons series and decided to cancel them after the pilot episode. I didn’t find them very effective since last night some idiot decided a red light was not really meant for him and continued to turn his truck and the 80 foot flatbed trailer he was hauling behind him while I was going straight through an intersection on a very green light. Anyhow, I digress. Today I am going to write about some recent incidents that happened to me while walking from the train station to work, just to illustrate the degradation of society.

The first episode is perhaps the funniest and truly illustrates how stupid people are. (It would have fit in with my second driving lesson had I continued that poorly written series). Everything this day was as it usually is. I was disturbed from a dream by my alarm way to early in the morning, heck the birds weren’t even up yet; I spent an hour on the train having my sleep disrupted by elbows in my side every five minutes (the length of time it took the idiot beside my to look at the pictures in the paper); and I fought through a crowd of people way too eager to get to work just to get out of the station. Once I survived that, I was on my way to the office, walking as slow as I possibly could of course. A little jaywalking here, some alley hopping there, a jaunt through a parking lot or two and I’m at work. Seems pretty basic but on the day in question the unwritten rules of walking seemed too much for one unlucky individual and she ended up with a story to tell her colleagues.

I was approaching an intersection, walking on the right hand side of the sidewalk, (which, unless I missed a memo somewhere, is the appropriate side to be walking on, just like driving in North America) and noticed two women walking towards me. I stayed my line making it quite clear I was not going to move as I was walking where I should have been. The lady on my right noticed me and stepped further to my right and out of my path creating a gap for me to walk through. With that gap I had no need to take evasive actions and thought I would slip right through with no worries. Would you not think the same? It happens that way all the time and in fact, Hollywood makes fun of that type of occurrence a lot. The second women noticed me, thanks to her friends warning, and instead of walking straight or even taking a step to my left to ensure avoidance, this yahoo took a step to my right and ended up directly in my path. We met as she stepped onto the curb so the resulting collision knocked her backwards off the curb, arms flailing everywhere.

I sort of felt bad at first but as I got to thinking about it, I decided it was her own fault. She was the one who stepped into my path while her friend was smart enough to move. If I am walking on the wrong side of the road and see someone almost twice my size coming towards me with not indication they are going to deviate from their path, I make sure to give them a wide berth. I try not to get into that position in the first place but sometimes it’s unavoidable. By the time I crossed the other corner I was fighting back a bout of laughter.

Driving Lesson 1 - Approaching Intersections

It has become apparent as I drive the short distance from my house to the GO train station that people have forgotten what to do when approaching intersections. I'd like to share my knowledge and enilighten the ignorant.

Stop Lights:

When approaching an intersection one may come across a set of indicator lights. A red light at an intersection means stop. It's really that simple. For those who want to turn right on a red light, they may do so only when there are no cars approaching the intersection. This is really not rocket science, after all, they let 16 year olds get behind the wheel of vehicles.

Stop Signs:

When one approaches a stop sign they are to come to a complete stop (I believe the drivers handbook even says that one is required to wait three seconds after stopping before resuming). There is no such thing as a stoptional stop sign; drivers are required to stop at all stop signs.

There are various other little nuances with respect to stop signs but I don't want to cofuse anyone so I'll let this sink in before adding anything too complicated. This is the end of driving lesson 1, lesson 2 will be on multi-lane driving.

Can You Believe It?

I received a couple emails from GO this afternoon. One saying "The 1653 train trip from Union to Oshawa (1738) is CANCELLED due to operational reasons (crew)" and another one apologizing for the delays yesterday and noted "Delays may continue into this evening. Because of yesterday evening's events, some train crew members have now exceeded federal regulations limiting the number of hours they can work. We will make every effort, along with CN, to avoid delays."

The smart thing would have been to cancel all service last night when there was an actual issue and save the crews for today. Instead they continued to try to run yesterday and had their crew sit idling in no man's land for countless hours wasting their hours. I am all for restricting hours for drivers of any vehicle (I've watched enough Seconds From Disaster shows on National Geographic channel), don't get me wrong, I just think GO Transit could have used their heads and planned more appropriately.

Between a Rock and a Fat Man

One day last week, Wednesday I think it was, Stinky T and I grabbed a seat on a homebound train at our usual time. That day, however, the train did not move. The train suffered from what GO Transit likes to call "equipment problems" and everyone on board had to detrain and force their way onto the next train, which was already full.

After a brief period of standing on the next train, we decided to get off and wait for yet one more train so we could grab a seat for the long ride home. The train arrived at Union Station as the previous train was leaving so we joined the herd and jumped on, grabbing a random seat on the upper tier. For those who have never been on a GO train (I am so envious of you), the seats are grouped in fours and are not identically spaced; in other words, some foursomes have more legroom between them. The foursome we grabbed this day had almost no legroom in between. I would say there was less than an inch between my shins and the seat facing me.

I quickly noticed the tight spot we were in and pointed it out to Stinky T but unsuspecting any issues with the tight space, we got comfortable (or as comfortable as one can get on the rock hard seats). The train began slowly filling up and before long I knew someone was going to join our foursome. Since there was next to no legroom, I did not expect anyone too big to sit in front of me but that was not the case at all. I don't even know why I expect people with at least a little intelligence to actually use the train because, other than Stinky T, I doubt anyone has an I.Q greater than a grade schooler does.

Instead of a toothpick grabbing the seat in front of me, I sat there and watched as a man as wide as he was tall decides to cram his tree stump legs into the almost non-existent space. This in itself is not too bad as this type of thing happens frequently to me although most times the person has enough sense to try not to invade my space even though it is usually an impossible task. When this thing first sat down it also made a feeble attempt to follow this practice, that is until someone wanted to occupy the seat beside me. With a past lesson learned, I knew I was going to lose all my leg room if I were to totally move to allow this lady in so I had to keep my one leg pretty much where it was. History did repeat itself this time too. Instead of allowing me to return to the position I was in before, one which seemed fine with this thing seconds before, he quickly swung his legs in basically preventing me from any possible comfort. Instead of giving in to temptation and risking my fist becoming a snack, I got up and found another seat, one that had a plethora of room, which the thing could have easily enjoyed had he not been too lazy to take another dozen steps.

As it turns out, I must have a sign on me somewhere, in some invisible ink only visible to those ignorant people who seem to think my body is a perfect place to test the strength of their purses or bags because once again this morning some biatch tried to force her bag into a spot it didn't fit. After scraping it down my leg and then smashing my leg with it a few times, it finally got under her seat. Then came the newspaper. If I didn't have calluses on my thumb I would have received several paper cuts. Once we arrived at Union station, she repeated the episode with her bag only in reverse and more violently, leaving the newspaper she was reading wherever it happened to land. On the other hand, maybe she left it there to keep her violated coffee cup company for the day. It is too bad there is not about a dozen recycling bins on every platform or she I am sure she would have used one.

Equipment Problems

I fought the urge to call in sick this morning and dragged my sorry ass out of bed. Things seemed to be going as it should as my day began. I left the house on time and arrived at the train station in plenty of time to catch my 6:52 train into Toronto. Nothing seemed awry walking through the parking lot towards the station even though the station was a train short (often times the next train does not pull into the station until my iPod is drowning out the undesirable sounds of public transportation). I was actually quite enjoying the leisurely stroll in the bright sunshine this cool morning, after all it is a Friday. I validated my ticket in the antiquated ticket machine and, after being cut off by a woman who I moved aside for moments earlier so I didn’t cut her off, I started down the length of the platform to the lead car.

After passing the end car I hear the muffled metallic sound of the speakers. These speakers are as effective as talking underwater so I did not hear enough to know what the point of this horrendous screeching was. I get to my destination and occupy a seat. Before I have time to warm up my traveling companion (iPod), an announcement comes over the train’s p.a. system, “This is the 7:11 train and it will be making all regular station stops…the 6:52 has been cancelled due to equipment problems…” Great, I now have to sit in the train for an extra thirty minutes before I am on my way and, even better, the train is going to be standing room only after the second stop. Not much I can do now.

About ten minutes prior to departure, a second announcement spouts from the train’s speakers, we are going to be making an extra stop now. Why not? I am already going to be late as it is, why not stop at every station en route????? So now the train that is usually full has to accommodate the riders of two trains and instead of making fewer stops, we are now going to be making an additional stop. Not sure how the math is going to work out here but hey, what do I know. To come to a quick end, when we arrived at Pickering station (our usual last stop before Union) the train was full and not many riders were able to jump on and at Rouge Hill (the added stop) I don’t even think the train doors opened. What the heck was the point of even stopping????

Sometimes I wonder what GO Transit is thinking. I do feel bad for the conductors though because they are the ones that face the wrath from the riders when they are not responsible for ensuring the trains are in proper working order and most of them are just as annoyed at the delays and cancellations as the passengers. It is time for GO Transit to be held accountable for major service disruptions and the only way that will happen is if we riders voice our concerns to government officials. I plan on writing a letter to my MPP, which I will post here, to highlight this issue in hopes the government will hold GO Transit accountable for avoidable delays like “equipment problems”.

Follow the Leader

Why do Ontarians have so much trouble understanding basic driving principles? The government has spent taxpayers money on signs reminding us all of the common rule, keep right except to pass or slower traffic keep right. Why is this concept too complicated for the drivers of Ontario to understand?

I understand there may be circumstances where this rule cannot be followed (i.e. rush hour or possibly even in the downtown areas of larger cities) but for the most part, there is no reason for drivers to ignore this simple concept. Every time I head out in my car, I bear witness to this phenomenon forcing me to pass on the right because drivers do not follow this ideology. Some drivers go so far as to speed up while being overtaken on the right only to slow down again when the threat of being passed ends. These practices can only lead to bad things.

As I was sitting in my car yesterday while my wife was at the wheel heading to the Toronto Zoo, I observed the happenings and came to a couple conclusions. The first conclusion is that people act differently while driving cars and people prefer to follow. As Stinky T noted in her post ‘Randomosity’, people do not seem to like line-ups but in their cars, people are more than happy to fall in line behind someone and form a queue. When in cars, people seem like they would rather follow someone else than to take the lead and set the pace (except for those who drive 10km/h under the limit).

Maybe this trend occurs because people do not like to think while in a car or they prefer to stare at the rear of a car as opposed to the marvels of Ontario. Who knows! In my opinion, people are just stupid and ignorant. And yes, I do fall into this category at times too, just like everyone else, but unlike some others, I try to limit my stays.

This Really Happened

I guess the stupidity bug is going around these days. I have a funny story to share as well. This happened to my wife last week when she stopped in at Costco on her way home from work. This was a conversation overheard while standing in line waiting to pay for her items. My wife went in for one item but while heading to that item, she noticed a display of jumbo freezies and stopped to pick one up for me. She ended up grabbing a few other items but they are insignificant as the story relates to this box of freezies.

Unknown idiot 1: I almost bought a box of those freezies last year…

Unknown idiot 2: Uh huh.

Unknown idiot 1: but the box is too big to fit in my freezer.

Her concern of the box size is a valid concern as the box is about a foot and a half long, eight or nine inches wide and about half a foot deep. However, it is not necessary to put the whole damn box in the freezer; it is possible to take the freezies out of the box a few at a time based on the room in one’s freezer and keep the box in a cupboard somewhere else.

Public Transit – The Better Way…

Yet another story courtesy of the ignorant asses that ride the GO train every day. The day started off in somewhat of a rush, I snoozed through my alarm the usual three (3), or was it four (4), times and still didn’t want to get up. Eventually I dragged by sorry ass out of bed and did my morning routine. When I got outside I was still behind schedule and I had to scrape the inch-thick (or so it seemed) frost off my windows and wait for the car to warm-up. I finally arrived at the train station and was “lucky” enough to have been on time for my usual train so I wander to my usual seat.

My usual seat is the two-seater on the top level of the coach. For those who ride the TTC it is similar to the two-seaters on the subway except there is leg room for normal size people. There is in fact lots of leg room and no-one sitting opposite to fight for the space. All mine.

We arrive at the last stop and the train is fairly full as usual, the seat beside me is still vacant though (I guess I am really that scary that no-one dares sit beside me. Do they know I am the top candidate at work for “going postal”, is it really that obvious? Or maybe it is the heavy metal music mixed with 1960’s country blaring out of my headphones that deter people from sharing the ride to work with me). Whatever the case the seat is usually vacant until the last stop. Finally, just when I was thinking I was not going to have a seat mate, a man roughly six feet tall, not exactly fat, but still covered with a layer of french fry created cushion, sat down beside me.

Ordinarily that would be the end of things and I wouldn’t be writing endlessly about the ride to work but of course today there is still more to tell. Instead of just sitting in the seat and trying not to bother anyone (being me) he squirmed and wriggled even lashed as if defending a rebound in basketball. Now you may think ‘what’s the problem here?’, but just picture two grown men, six feet tall, weighing a combined half ton sitting in a seat designed for five foot nothing people…there isn’t room to act like Michael Jordan. I would have shifted a bit in my seat except for the fact there was no room to shift.

He then rummaged through his bag, elbowing me and such as he went, and finally pulled out a newspaper, the Globe and Mail (well, at least he’s not a complete moron…or is he? The first section he grabbed to read was the sports section…the Globe and Mail is possibly the worst Toronto based newspaper for sports coverage, next to the National Post but that isn’t much of a paper anyhow). He settled down to read his paper and other than the occasional bump, he kept to himself. That is until his feet started shifting and he kept kicking me. I of course stand, well I guess it is more like sit, my ground and prevent him from infringing on my space and transforming my ride from slightly uncomfortable to totally unbearable.

The train, after what seemed like days, finally pulled into to Union Station and everyone debarked and headed to their work locations. I waited patiently for the guy beside me to get up and when he did, he had the gall to turn back and look at me as if I did something wrong. Hello, was I not just sitting there trying to mind my own business getting elbowed so much that the new NHL would have given him a match penalty for attempt to injure? I must be wrong, I guess I should have cut off half my body so he could be more comfortable, or maybe he was just irritated that I didn’t roll out the red carpet for him and kissed his ring. He was after all wearing a cheap suit, likely from Moores, the store that thrives on ignorance and disregard for those that they think are inferior to themselves, while I was (and still am) wearing a nice t-shirt and slacks from
Marks Work Warehouse.

I Only Have Two Eyes...And they Aren't On The Back Of My Head

Today started out like every other. I woke up (sort of anyhow), showered, drove to the train station and took a Toronto bound GO train. Forty minutes or so later the train came to a rest at Union Station. As usual, I let most of the car empty before I disembarked and started my short hike to the office.

Just for those who might not know the layout I will try to quickly explain. I exit track level on the west end where there are stairs heading down to street level. The stairs are joined with the stairs from other tracks and become three sets that open on to a very large walkway leading to two rows of doors and the outside world. These doors consists of three sets each, a single door situated on the either end with a set of double doors in the middle all exiting to the same street.

I used the middle set of stairs and once I hit the walkway I headed straight for the double doors in the middle (by using the middle stairs, one would logically assume they should also use the middle doors right?). I continued towards the exit and just before I stepped through the first doorway, I saw a figure emerge from my right and bully his way through the door in front of me. Well, since I don’t have eyes in the back of my head, his body managed to make it through but unfortunately, being so early in the morning, my brain didn’t process this fast enough and his backpack went through the door at the same time I did slowing the man down. End result, I walked on his shoes and possibly even up his leg a bit. He got through the next set of doors with me on his heels (literally) and decided it would be a good idea to stop. Of course he was in too big of a rush to stop before the first set of doors and prevent a scene like this from occurring but he all of a sudden found time to stop now. Anyhow, I kept walking, pushing the man out of my way and continuing on my way. Unfortunately the man was heading the same way I was and he said something to me that I couldn’t hear since I had my ipod blasting in my ears. I yelled something back to him (again with headphones on the voice seems to amplify a touch) hoping to end the “discussion” but he continued to waste my oxygen by trying to talk to me.

"'When you leave these walls, you will come upon the many pillars of violence.' - Kan
'May not a man one with nature seeing such pillars avoid them?' - Caine
'Other men stumble in the way. They go in idlest search of peace.' - Kan
'Must I then tumble down these pillars?' - Caine
'Seek always peace. Wear no path for the footsteps of others unless the soul is endangered. We are all linked by our souls. To endanger one endangers all.' – Master Kan

Foreseeing only bad things happening from there and having the above words of Master Kan (Kung Fu) drowning out my music, I turned and walked the other way avoiding any ugliness.

Everyday People

People are Stupid!!!!

Everyday on my way to work I am reminded of the above fact (it is even worse when I do get to work). I don't know why I expect people to actually use their brains, however small it may be, but I do. Is there such a thing a "common sense" anymore??? Sadly, I think not.
